Apple Crisp
crumb mixture;
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup flour
6 apples depending on size, peeled and sliced
1 tsp vanilla or rum
1/2 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg
In a small bowl cream together the sugar and butter. Rub in the flour until the texture is coarse like crumbs.
Place apples into a 2 quart buttered casserole dish. Drizzle with vanilla and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the apples and pat firmly. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
* you could also halve the flour and add oatmeal. Try rhubarb, peaches or blueberries instead of apples.
*this recipe came from the My Goose is Cooked cookbook by Oney Martin
